ZEN Abrio, Est. Completion 2024
ZEN Abrio is Avalon’s third ZEN townhome community in the award-winning southeast community of Seton. A total of 76 homes are being built on this site near the future Seton Homeowners Association, a 13000 sq. ft. lifestyle facility, and a 6-acre private park within walking distance of ZEN Abrio.
Homebuyers can choose between level-living flats or 2-storey homes and, depending on the model, will include balconies, private fenced backyards or rooftop patios.
ZEN Abrio is our first ZEN community in Seton to offer townhomes with attached garages. Both single and tandem garages are available to choose from.
ZEN Rockland Park, Est. Completion 2023
ZEN Rockland Park, a community of 76 townhomes, is constructed in Calgary’s most recent northwest community of Rockland Park, overlooking Bearspaw and Bow River Reservoir. With views of the Rocky Mountains and proximity to vibrant shopping and year-round recreation, it’s no surprise that this ZEN community’s stacked townhomes were especially popular with home seekers and investors. Homebuyers chose from a 2 or 3-bedroom City home with a fenced backyard and some with rooftop patios and third-level development or a 1 or 2-bedroom flat built with outdoor amenity space. Homeowners will also enjoy access to the four-season recreational lifestyle centre, four-acre park, programs and activities offered by the HOA.
ZEN Riverstone West, Est. Completion 2023
ZEN Riverstone West is in the community of Cranston’s Riverstone, where natural beauty meets classic style. Community highlights include parks, pathways, Fish Creek Park and the Bow River connections. These 113 stacked townhomes are Stage 2 of the ZEN Riverstone community built on the adjacent Stage 1 site. These homes come in three styles to choose from, and some include rooftop patios, third-level development and single attached garages. All two-storey homes have a private, fenced backyard.
ZEN Sequel, Est. Completion 2023
Our success story continued at ZEN Sequel in Seton (our second stacked townhome community) with even more enticement to live, work and play in south Calgary’s most talked about new community. These two and 3-bedroom 2-storey homes and one and 2-bedroom flats featured style, function, and affordable energy-efficient living, specifically designed to fit active lifestyles.
In Partnership with The Canadian Home Builders’ Association and Natural Resources Canada, we built Calgary’s first Multi-Unit Residential Buildings (MURB) qualified under the CHBA Net Zero Home Labelling Program at ZEN Sequel in Seton.
ZEN Sequel offered 8 Net Zero Homes and 8 Net Zero Ready homes. It was Calgary’s first stacked townhome building to be labelled as Net Zero Energy. Our building was one of only six projects being built across Canada as part of CHBA’s MURB pilot program, which has set out to prove that stacked living can be built to a Net Zero Energy level of performance.
ZEN Urban District, Completed 2019
ZEN Urban District was the first ZEN community we built in the southeast community of Seton. Urban District is where residents find shopping, dining, entertainment, and healthcare. The ZEN Urban District site is conveniently located within walking distance of South Health Campus – Calgary’s newest hospital. This community of 70 homes comprised stacked two-storey and level-living flats townhomes.
ZEN Redstone, Completed in 2019
ZEN Redstone in northeast Calgary was a townhome community of 56 two-storey townhomes featuring two or three bedrooms, 1.5 – 2.5 bathrooms and basements for optional development that could include one or two more bedrooms for families. ZEN Redstone was only a 12-minute drive to the Calgary International Airport terminal, which appealed to Airport workers. Redstone offered parks, and pathways and was just moments away from shopping, entertainment and Stoney and Metis Trails.
ZEN Ravenswood in Airdrie, Completed in 2018
ZEN Ravenswood was the sixth development in Avalon’s ZEN series and the second time ZEN townhomes were built in Airdrie. The 119 homes in this townhome community consisted of three home styles, including two-storey homes with fenced backyards, attached lane garage homes and single-level garden homes. The community of Ravenswood in Airdrie allows homeowners to enjoy the quaint charm that Airdrie offers while enjoying great access to big city amenities.
ZEN Cranston Solar, Completed in 2017
ZEN Cranston was the first ZEN community supplemented with solar energy. Located in the community of Cranston, these 66 ZEN Townhomes consisted of level-living garden homes and two-storey townhomes. The two-storey townhomes featured two dedicated rooftop solar panels with the option for homeowners to add more. On average, each home with solar panels generates 539 kWh of power each year. The solar panels continue to reduce monthly utility bills for ZEN Cranston homeowners in a green, environment-friendly manner.
ZEN Okotoks, Completed 2015
ZEN Okotoks offered 37 stylish and affordable stacked townhomes built with eco-friendly construction in the community of Westridge in Okotoks. ZEN Okotoks floorplans included level-living garden homes with outdoor amenity space and two-storey townhomes with backyards.
Westridge was ideally situated close to shopping, schools and healthcare.
GLAS, Completed 2015
GLAS was a two-building inner-city development located in South West Calgary and within walking distance of the trendy Marda Loop area. This collection of 21 multi-family units centers around an interior courtyard and features spacious 1, 2 & 3 bedroom two & three storey homes, with many units including both courtyard and rooftop patios.
GLAS has architectural appeal with its sleek minimalist design and white façade, highlighted with tangerine accents. GLAS was constructed with a steel frame and ICF (Insulated Concrete Forms). Homeowners benefit from these concrete and steel-built residences with improved fire safety and enhanced sound attenuation not found with wood frame construction. ICF construction also reduces energy costs by up to 50% for homeowners.
ZEN Riverstone, Completed 2015
ZEN Riverstone is situated in Cranston’s Riverstone community, a perfect fusion of natural beauty and timeless architecture. The area boasts several impressive amenities such as parks, pathways, and convenient links to Fish Creek Park and the Bow River. These 91 stacked townhomes were the first stage of the ZEN Riverstone development. Homebuyers had a choice of three distinct styles, with select units featuring rooftop patios, third-level development, and single attached garages. Additionally, all two-storey homes came with a private, fenced backyard.
ZEN in Auburn Bay, Completed in 2014
Located in the lake community of Auburn Bay, these 189 ZEN Townhomes came in three new and innovative townhome styles to choose from. They featured our trademark affordability and energy efficient features. The four different style options and sleek cabinetry made the interior alluring, while the private patios, fenced yards, and lake access made ZEN Auburn Bay desirable for all our homeowners.
ZEN McKenzie Towne, Completed in 2012
Shops and services, the gym, restaurants, and coffee houses – it’s all within walking distance from the ZEN McKenzie Towne location. A choice of 2-storey townhomes with private fenced yards and bungalow garden homes with private patios featuring spacious 2- and 3-bedrooms ranging from 1,000 to 1,300 square feet, all with Avalon’s stylish finishes and fixtures. All 102 homes are EnerGuideTM certified, and Holmes Approved Homes endorsed.
ZEN in Aspen, Completed in 2010
This ZEN development is located in the stunning west side estate community of Aspen Hills, only minutes from downtown and nearby schools, shops, recreation and entertainment, and close to the West Side LRT. All 69 ZEN Aspen units are around 1,200 square feet, plus an optional lower level development provides lots of room for activities, kids, and family functions. The very cool standard finishes were available in a choice of four designer colour palettes. We are proud that ZEN Aspen is registered under the LEED Canada for Homes Program.
ZEN Kings Heights, Completed in 2007
ZEN Kings Heights, a community of 202 townhomes in Airdrie, was our first ZEN development and established Avalon as the first certified Built Green multi-family homebuilder. ZEN Kings Heights broke ground in October 2005 and sold out in a record two years. These efficiently designed 2-storey, 2-bedroom homes are about 1,100 square feet plus an optional lower level development, including a pantry, large country kitchen, and a private fenced yard. Standard finishes included a choice of four designer colour palettes.
