Hakeem Mitha is the Chief Financial Officer of Avalon Homes, overseeing finance, accounting, treasury, capital markets, and investor relations. He brings deep experience in private equity, real estate development, and capital markets, with leadership roles at organizations including Brookfield Residential, Avenue Living, and Basecamp Resorts. His expertise spans across mixed-use development, home building, land development, and income producing properties, with involvement in over $5 billion of capital markets and M&A transactions. Hakeem’s experience includes fundraising, deal structuring, governance, and risk management, with a focus on aligning capital strategy with long-term business objectives. He is committed to blending entrepreneurial agility with institutional discipline and structure. He is a former Board Member of Calgary Montessori School and has served as Partner and Chair of the Investment Committee at Social Venture Partners. Hakeem holds an MBA from Queen’s University and a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Victoria.
